Test
Temperament Test:
It is important for the health and safety of all concerned that the dogs attending daycare do not
have aggressive tendencies, show excessive shyness, are food or toy possessive, are overly
protective of territory, or are stressed easily in new situations.

We do temperment testing for all dogs that come to our facility. This is to ensure that all dogs
are friendly and do not have aggressive behavior or tendencies. Feel free to come by anytime to
look at the daycare area, after that you can book for a temperment test.

At the screening appointment your dog will be tested for attitude and human handling. This
includes all four paws being picked up, petting all over your dog’s body, a big restraint hug,
teeth and ear check, and to see how comfortable your dog is with this kind of touch both
physically and emotionally. Dog screening will take place at the same time or the first morning
that your dog comes to daycare.. Your dog will then be introduced to each dog in the existing
pack one at a time. As the morning goes on they will then be introduced to 2, then 3, and so
on, increasing the number of dogs with their comfort level.

At Safe Haven we provide the best environment for your dog to socialize and feel safe. Our
playful environment is a result of dogs getting to know each other during repeated visits. This
occurs by reducing the stress of meeting new and unfamiliar dogs everyday, no different from
the increased comfort level you feel once you become more familiar with new friends. To
ensure this, we ask that you make an initial 8-week commitment to the same day(s) each week.
